About Benjamin Barham-Wiese, Percussionist
Benjamin Barham-Wiese is a 6th grader (in the school year of 15-16) at the Special Music School (P.S. 859) in New York City, where he studies contemporary percussion with Chris Graham. He has recently played repertoire such as "Dialogue for Snare Drum & Timpani" by Garwood Whaley, "Clapping Music" by Steve Reich, and "Chonlima" by Julie Angelis.
Benjamin has been a percussionist in groups such as Special Music School Percussion Ensemble, and Face the Music. He has also been a singer in groups such as Chelsea Opera Company, and York Theatre Company. This summer 2015, he will be playing the percussion part to Leroy Anderson's "Fiddle Faddle" in Kaufman Music Center's Summer String Fest as well as assisting a World Drumming Workshop at Lucy Moses School in New York City. For his upcoming YouTube projects, he will be hosting Percussion Laboratory (starting in July 2015) as well as performing some of his compositions & performing in Elisha Jimenez's "Marimba Wars" (Star Wars Marimba Medley).
